A Selection Committee was formed to determine the steps needed in hiring our next Executive Director of the Iowa PGA Section. With Thomas Hutton’s departure, the process to find his replacement became an immediate priority. Having just conducted a full, national search this past Spring, we knew the candidates that were available and what qualifications these candidates needed to possess to become our next Executive Director.
Monday, our Selection Committee met at Riverside to conduct a full interview with a candidate for this position. This candidate was strongly considered in this Spring’s search and his experiences, talents and passions are well known. Following this interview, it was abundantly clear we had just met with the best person for our position.
It is my pleasure and honor to announce that Greg Mason, PGA Head Professional from Spirit Hollow Golf Course has accepted the offer to become the next Executive Director of the Iowa PGA Section. Greg is a Past President of the Iowa PGA Section, has served on several national committees and most recently was appointed by PGA President Paul Levy to the PGA Board of Control. He is more than ready for this position and we could not be more excited to welcome Greg to the staff of the Iowa PGA Section.
Greg commented, “Thank you for this honor to continue serving the Iowa Section as your Executive Director. I look forward to working in collaboration with our current, past and future leaders along with our talented and motivated staff to take the Iowa PGA to continued greater heights.”
Greg will begin on January 15th. Thomas Hutton will stay on through the week of January 8th and has graciously offered to assist in any way possible. We appreciate Thomas’ support during this process and his willingness to help Greg through this transition.
